C. Hunter Wright
I am a graphic designer by trade and an illustrator by nature. Growing up, my biggest mental struggles were when I colored outside the lines in my coloring book or I got the angle of building I was drawing just a little bit off. In both cases I ripped up the piece of paper and got flustered. What I would come to learn during high school, and in college at Texas State was that these breakdowns were just my young mind struggling to understand what would be known as vanishing point, and of course patience.
My dad still has a binder of all of my drawings growing up. He was a lawyer so he made sure to make copies of my doodles much like he did with his thousands of documents. He taught me to be meticulous with keeping records but more importantly he taught me to think. Eventually what he taught me would take root, and I no longer crumpled up my art because of a mishap. Most mishaps can be transformed into happy accidents if you’re willing to give them a chance.
